PortCastelló Handled 15.7 Million Tons of Cargo in 2023

The Port Authority, under the slogan ‘Leading the Future’, has released its Annual Report, providing detailed information on management, traffic, routes, infrastructure, and the economic and commercial aspects of PortCastelló.

Spanning 117 pages, the document summarizes some of the key milestones and actions related to productive infrastructure, such as the progress of the southern railway accesses, the intermodal station, and the south dock expansion project, which will add 420,000 square meters of space.

The report highlights cargo traffic data for Castelló port by type of goods, noting that in 2023, it handled 15.7 million tons of cargo.

Additionally, PortCastelló has also published the 2023 Sustainability Report, reviewing key measures taken in environmental protection, actions related to the port’s interaction with its surroundings, and alliances aimed at boosting the knowledge economy and achieving sustainable development.

The annual Sustainability Report includes proposals that establish Castellón port as a benchmark in sustainable logistical development, such as the PortCastelló agreement with the Generalitat Valenciana to improve air quality and other initiatives like the renewal of the socially responsible company certificate. The support for the province’s innovative ecosystem with the development of a future technological hub, a project that also promotes port-city integration, is also featured in the report.
